Welcome to the Community Energy Network chat space!

Hi to everyone from the CEN previously convened by Indigo Power Foundation and the amazing Kirsten Seeto. C4CE is taking over the running of the network from IPF and we are in the process of setting everything up.

Hello as well to new members of the CEN. We’re hoping to expand CENs to different regions around Australia and this CEN is the first! And will be the test bed for future networks and a colleague of the amazing Rewiring Australia community too. Groups from anywhere can join this category, but as each region reaches a critical density, they may transition to their own network (but you are still welcome to remain members here).

We really want this to be a collaborative space, so the more you participate, the more you will get out of it. There are people in the CEN that have years of experience running projects in communities, so if you have a conundrum, a question, a tip or a story, please share it!

To start, please introduce yourself here to the group, and tell us a little about yourself and the group/community that you come from. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Let me introduce myself

To start us off, I’ve been with Totally Renewable Yackandandah (TRY) in north-east Victoria for 5 years and joined the C4CE Board this year. I recently helped run the 2024 Community Energy Congress in March 2024 in Sydney, and I’m the Vice President of TRY. I’m passionate about helping communities to address local needs and increase their resilience and autonomy. We need to reduce our carbon emissions but there are so many opportunities in this transition as well and I’m keen to see them realised. I’m also a mechanical engineer and a writer and I love a good story!
